Kaitlyn at the NIH Children's InnKaitlyn and Disney teamed together as she visited with kids and their families at the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH’s) Children’s Inn and they watched her new movie “The Search for Santa Paws.” Children and families travel from all over the world to the NIH and the warmth and camaraderie of The Inn stand in sharp contrast to the isolation of a hotel room. The Inn gives kids a place to be kids for a while, instead of patients.

Upon arriving, Kaitlyn was taken to the room where all the kids and their families were gathered. They had a brief Q&A time to start things off where the kids got to ask Kaitlyn all sorts of questions about how the movie was made, how she liked it, what her favorite things were about making the movie, and a few other questions. Then Kaitlyn sat with all the kids and enjoyed the movie with them. Afterwards, Kaitlyn sang the movie’s catchy original song "I Believe" and then participated in some additional Q&A. She loved interacting with the kids and it showed in how receptive they were to her too. Finally, all the kids received the goodie bags from Disney containing “The Search for Santa Paws” Blu-ray-DVD pack and plush dog!!! Kaitlyn then had fun signing autographs – one child even asked Kaitlyn to sign his forehead... which she of course thought was too cool!

Kaitlyn at the NIH Children's Inn watching While Kaitlyn was interacting with the kids at the end, a number of parents let us know how much the events of the evening had encouraged them and their kids. Some of them have some incredibly sad stories, and yet for a night, they were able to put their personal pains aside (as best they could) and enjoy a memorable night filled with the movie's lead actress on hand and gifts delivered directly from Disney. For a kid, it just doesn't get much better than that.

A special thank you goes out to Disney for partnering with us on this awesome event and for making the night so incredibly special for all these precious children.
